You have probably noticed that I’ve been pretty quiet lately. I didn’t even come back last weekend to finish my events post. That’s because the Zimmerman trial had me biting my nails, and afterwards had me sick to my stomach. I’ll have a post on that later, but today’s event is dedicated to Trayvon Martin.
There well be a vigil held outside of the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse on Constitution Avenue NW at noon. Be there, if possible, with your Skittles, hoodies and tea.
That’s it. If you do something with your family this weekend, go to that rally. Fruitvale Station is also playing at E Street Theatre in DC. Very fitting, no? Have a great weekend. Take time to reflect on race in this country and how to have that discussion with your children.
