And the Oscar Goes to…

My husband and I have lost our minds. I guess 2014 is the year of me doing things I never thought I’d do. Like agree to do a 24 hour-ish movie marathon.

So I had been hearing about this best picture showcase that AMC Theatres does, and after The Oscars I was always like man JD (Johanna’s Dada)! We totally should’ve done the marathon thingy. Well this year there were just too many movies we weren’t able to see, because, you know, we have a 3 year old, so I thought why not! Here’s how it works. On Saturday, March 1 you can see 5 movies for $40 – Nebraska, Captain Phillips, Her, American Hustle, and Gravity. If I had written this blog entry earlier and you were hip to this information, on February 22 you could’ve seen 4 movies for $30 – Philomena, Dallas Buyers Club, The Wolf of Wall Street and 12 Years a Slave. Orrrrrr you could be totally gangsta with it and see all movies in one sitting on March 1 beginning at 10am. And that’s exactly what we’re doing yo, boom!

The hilarious part is that after we purchased the tickets JD wanted to be all “wait, maybe we should think about this…”. Ummm, say what now sir? Too late! He eventually calmed down after realizing 1) When is the last time we’ve done something like this? This is all “crazy party time!” for this old married couple and  2) If we hate it, we can always leave! So that’s it, we’re in! I’m getting my bookbag ready to go with a pillow, a blanket, and extra chargers for the phones. This is going to be AWESOMENESS! We’re not going to be sleepy at all…

Yeah. Pray our strength. Seriously, we probably won’t have the energy to actually watch the Oscars Sunday night, but if we survive this we deserve the award for most awesome parents of a toddler. Like, ever.
